FAQ
Common questions
Everything parents, coaches, and organizations ask before getting started.
Getting started
What is IX Baseball?›
An all-in-one player development platform for baseball athletes, coaches, and organizations. Coaches and parents upload swing and pitching video, and the platform produces development reports, HittingIQ and Transfer Score assessments, drill prescriptions, and progress tracking. With AI assistance reviewed alongside human coaching context.
How young is too young?›
We're built for youth athletes, typically ages 8-18. Accounts that hold athlete data must be opened and operated by a parent, guardian, coach, or organization administrator. Minors do not register or operate accounts directly.
Do I need special equipment?›
No. A regular phone in landscape mode from the side or front is plenty. Long clips are auto-trimmed where possible.
Reports & coaching
How are reports generated?›
Reports combine AI-assisted analysis of video and assessment data with coaching frameworks built by IX Baseball. AI outputs are decision support. Coaches and parents remain responsible for development decisions.
How fast is the report?›
Automated assessment reports are typically available within minutes of upload. Coach-reviewed reports, where offered by your team or organization, follow your coach's review schedule.
What is Transfer Score?›
Transfer Score measures how an athlete's mechanics carry from controlled environments (tee work) into game-like environments (front toss, live BP, games). Confidence indicators tell you when there is enough data to trust the score.
Billing
Is there a free trial?›
Pricing and trial availability are shown on the pricing page. Parent Premium and Coach subscriptions include a 14-day refund window from the date of purchase.
Can I cancel anytime?›
Yes. Monthly subscriptions cancel from your account settings or at paddle.net. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then.
Do you offer refunds?›
Parent Premium and Coach subscriptions are refundable within 14 days of purchase. Coach Reviews, where offered, are fully refundable before a coach begins work, but are non-refundable once work has started or after delivery. All refunds are handled directly by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Visit paddle.net to submit a request.
Privacy & safety
Who can see my athlete's video?›
Athlete data is private by default. Access is granted, never assumed. Inside the platform, access is limited to: parents and guardians linked to the athlete; coaches assigned to the athlete through a team, organization, or direct invitation; administrators of the team, academy, or organization the athlete is enrolled in; and recipients of share links you explicitly create. Athletes do not have public profiles, are not searchable across the platform, and are not exposed to recruiting features.
Do you use AI? Is my data used to train AI models?›
Yes, we use AI to assist with generating reports, scores (including HittingIQ and Transfer Score), and drill recommendations. AI subprocessors process data strictly to produce the requested output and are contractually prohibited from training their own models on your data. We do not sell your data and we do not authorize third parties to use your athlete's videos to train general-purpose AI models. See our Privacy Notice for details and our Subprocessors page for the current list.
How is my data stored?›
Encrypted at rest and in transit, in a private storage bucket served only via signed URLs, with row-level access control on every database table. Audit logs are kept for security and identity-merge operations.
What rights do parents have?›
Parents and guardians may access, correct, export, and request deletion of any data we hold about their athlete, and may withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@ixbaseball.ca to exercise these rights.
